Performance dates are April 16th thru May 3rd, 2009

David, a former college teacher, is hard-hit by the accidental death of his wife, an event that took place some two years before the start of the play. His subsequent withdrawal from life is causing worry for his teen daughter Rachel, and anger from his sister-in-law Esther, who threatens to use the legal system to take Rachel from him. Esther and her husband, Paul, come to visit David and Rachel on their island home and bring with them a woman named Kevin for David to meet. Will David ignore Kevin in favor of his continuing dialogue with his late wife? Will he begin to look after the needs of his daughter or lose her to Esther and Paul? Will he return to the working world? Will David succumb to the infatuated Cindy, a classmate of his daughter? All questions are answered in "To Gillian."
Although billed as a "comedy-drama," Brady's play is simply a good basic examination of human reactions to loss. The play is nicely balanced and affords several actors good chances to score with scenes that are heartfelt, moving and domestic in scale.
